Ukrainian Drone Strikes Kill Eight Across Russian Regions

In the Saratov region, Governor Roman Busargin confirmed two deaths in the city of Engels following a strike on a residential building. Kyiv’s military command claimed responsibility for the assault, noting they targeted the city’s oil refinery and a nearby strategic airbase, both of which reported fires. Simultaneously, in the Udmurtia region, acting governor Olga Abramova reported three fatalities and two injuries from a drone impact, while a local task force in the Belgorod region confirmed another three deaths and five injuries.

Industrial hubs faced significant pressure as well. Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported a fire at a Wildberries warehouse, a facility located roughly 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. This marks the latest in a series of targeted strikes on the retailer since mid-July, as Ukrainian forces increasingly focus on disrupting the economic infrastructure supporting Russia's war effort. Further east, Bashkortostan Governor Radiy Khabirov stated that air defense units intercepted a drone over an industrial zone in Ufa. Despite the Russian Defence Ministry reporting the destruction of 635 drones throughout the night, the reach of these attacks underscores an intensifying campaign against targets far beyond the front lines.
