The Hyderabad Cyber Crime police initiated a formal investigation after Goud flagged 20 specific Instagram and Facebook URLs on July 29. These posts, which surfaced during the recent NEET paper leak agitation, allegedly featured derogatory, morphed content designed to disrespect the Prime Minister. Goud insists these accounts are not affiliated with legitimate student protesters but are instead part of a coordinated, funded effort to manufacture negative sentiment.
Authorities have registered the case under the IT Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, tasking Inspector P Jayashankar with the inquiry. The police are now working to secure electronic evidence and are seeking account details from Meta Platforms to identify the individuals behind the digital campaign. Goud stated that the BJP intends to pursue additional legal action against other accounts identified as participating in this trend.
