According to the Minister, the move was a necessary measure to restore order to a House repeatedly compromised by unruly conduct.

Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari echoed these sentiments, labeling the disruptive behavior unacceptable for any elected official. The internal strife extends beyond the state assembly, as Kalyan Banerjee was recently suspended from the Lok Sabha for the remainder of the Monsoon Session due to allegations of using intemperate language toward women members. Banerjee dismissed the disciplinary measures as irrelevant, directing his anger at rebel TMC members who have aligned with the NCPI. He branded these defectors as traitors, claiming their political influence in West Bengal is non-existent.
