During the India-Spain Business Forum, Goyal framed current trade progress as insufficient, challenging the standard goal of doubling commerce every three years. The discussions with Spain's Minister of Industry and Tourism focused on deepening ties in manufacturing, supply chain resilience, and investment. A key component of these talks included the ongoing negotiations regarding the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, which remains a focal point for both administrations.
Spain’s Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo proposed a joint roadmap to formalize this economic alignment, a move welcomed by New Delhi. By emphasizing shared values and adherence to global trade rules, both nations are positioning their partnership to move beyond traditional sectors into high-growth industrial collaboration. For Goyal, the objective is clear: shifting from incremental gains to a period of rapid, sustained economic expansion between the two nations.
