The preliminary report provided to the Uttar Pradesh government details a security failure, with CCTV footage capturing counting staff clandestinely hiding currency. While previous instances of theft remain unconfirmed due to a lack of visual records, these findings confirm that internal protocols were bypassed to facilitate the fraud. Goud stated that any employee found guilty would face the harshest possible penalties.
Beyond the criminal investigation, Goud accused opposition parties of weaponizing the scandal for political leverage. He claimed the accused had maintained long-standing ties with opposition figures in Uttar Pradesh, arguing that these critics are now feigning concern for a site they previously dismissed as insignificant. The investigation continues as officials attempt to determine the full scale of the misappropriated funds.
