Israel views the agreement as a framework to secure its border, contingent on the disarmament of Hezbollah forces in the south. However, the proposal has deepened existing rifts within the Lebanese government. As Israeli forces maintain a security zone in the region, the diplomatic impasse persists. President Aoun continues to lobby the Trump administration to leverage its influence over Israel to secure a full withdrawal, even as military operations between the IDF and Hezbollah fluctuate between sporadic fire and uneasy truces.
