Naim Qassem Rejects Israel-Lebanon Framework Deal

Dismissing the recently signed Israel-Lebanon framework agreement as a humiliating surrender of national sovereignty, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has formally denounced the Washington-brokered pact. He insists the document holds no legal weight and represents a fundamental compromise of Lebanese interests that his organization refuses to accept.

Qassem argues that the framework should be discarded entirely in favor of an alternative memorandum involving Iran and the United States, which he claims would provide a more equitable path for regional stability. His rejection signals a hardening stance against the diplomatic efforts currently underway to stabilize the border.

The Hezbollah chief also issued a pointed warning regarding the conditions of Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon. He stated that any demand linking the removal of Israeli forces to the disarmament of his group crosses an absolute red line. By framing the disarmament clause as a non-negotiable boundary, Qassem effectively complicates the implementation of the ceasefire terms, signaling that Hezbollah remains committed to maintaining its armed presence regardless of international pressure.
