Russian and Chinese Aircraft Enter South Korean Air Defense Zone

South Korean fighter jets scrambled on Saturday after approximately ten Russian and Chinese military aircraft crossed into the nation’s Air Defence Identification Zone. While the foreign planes conducted tactical maneuvers near the perimeter, military officials confirmed they remained outside South Korean sovereign airspace throughout the duration of the flight.

The incident triggered an immediate defensive response as Seoul tracked the formation nearing the zone. Authorities deployed aircraft to monitor the flight path and maintain a precautionary presence. Despite the intensity of the deployment, the military reported no direct confrontations or airspace violations during the transit. Such incursions occur periodically in the region, serving as a standard test of air defense readiness for the nations involved.
