The allegations suggest that Congress-led authorities are targeting BJP-backed councillors with fabricated cases while pressuring members of Block Development Committees to switch allegiances. According to Bindal and Thakur, the administration is deliberately withholding election schedules for key positions, including Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons, to consolidate power through administrative delays.
In response to what they describe as a direct assault on democratic processes, the BJP has scheduled a series of demonstrations. Party leaders have cautioned that if the government continues to obstruct the electoral process, the BJP will escalate its response into a statewide agitation.
