G Kishan Reddy Accuses Telangana Rivals of Undermining Voter Revision

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy launched a sharp critique of Congress and BRS leaders on Friday, accusing the parties of colluding with the Majlis to obstruct the Special Intensive Revision process. He specifically targeted Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for questioning an administrative exercise conducted under his own government’s authority.

The Minister argued that these political maneuvers erode public confidence in state officials tasked with executing the voter list updates. His remarks follow a period of heightened friction regarding the integrity of the revision process in Telangana, where administrative hurdles have become a flashpoint for regional political actors.

Simultaneously, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has voiced strong reservations concerning the initiative. While the government has expanded MeeSeva centers to improve accessibility, Owaisi warned that the current structure presents significant risks, citing potential citizenship documentation challenges for voters. He maintains that the complexity of the requirements could disenfranchise residents, creating a divide between administrative goals and the practical realities facing the electorate.
