Amit Shah Sets Three-Year Blueprint to Dismantle Drug Networks

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has challenged state authorities to adopt a 'detect, deduct, and destroy' strategy to dismantle India’s drug trafficking infrastructure. Speaking at the 10th Apex-Level Meeting of the Narco-Coordination Centre, he framed the next three years as a decisive window to curb the nation’s growing narcotics crisis.

The Home Minister demanded a rigid, no-nonsense crackdown on syndicates while simultaneously urging officials to maintain a compassionate framework for addiction rehabilitation. He argued that the battle against narcotics requires a shift from fragmented efforts to a unified, result-oriented roadmap involving government agencies, community leaders, and the youth.

Shah insisted that the success of this mission hinges on rigorous analysis and consistent review processes within the NCORD. By integrating state-level cooperation, the government aims to move beyond standard enforcement to achieve the complete eradication of smuggling routes. He stressed that the state must act as a firm deterrent to traffickers while remaining a reliable support system for those struggling with substance dependency.
