Ayodhya Trust Members Resign Following Temple Donation Scandal

Allegations of financial misconduct have rocked the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, prompting key members to resign their posts. The fallout centers on accusations of massive fund misappropriation during the construction phase of the Ayodhya shrine, triggering a formal investigation into the project's accounting practices.

A First Information Report now anchors the inquiry into the alleged embezzlement, naming individuals including Anukalp Mishra and Lavkush Mishra. The legal action follows claims from former SP MLA Pawan Pandey, who contends that between ₹7 crore and ₹7.5 crore was diverted improperly. In response to the growing controversy, a Special Investigation Team was established on June 14 to audit the suspicious transactions.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has pushed back against the political firestorm, accusing opposition leaders of weaponizing the scandal for electoral gain. During a public appearance in Deoria, Adityanath maintained a stance of zero tolerance toward corruption, challenging critics to provide substantial evidence to the investigative panel rather than relying on hearsay. The government maintains that the probe will resolve the discrepancy and restore transparency to the project.
