Uttar Pradesh Launches Probe into Ayodhya Temple Donation Fraud

A cloud of suspicion has settled over the Ram Mandir as Uttar Pradesh authorities scramble to address allegations of widespread donation embezzlement. With roughly Rs 7.5 crore reportedly unaccounted for, the state government has deployed a specialized investigative unit to untangle the financial trail and hold implicated individuals to account.

Uttar Pradesh Launches Probe into Ayodhya Temple Donation Fraud

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak confirmed on Friday that his administration is treating the misappropriation claims with extreme gravity. The state has already moved beyond initial inquiries, registering a formal FIR on June 25 under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A dedicated three-member Special Investigation Team now leads the probe into the missing funds, which were originally flagged by former Ayodhya SP MLA Pawan Pandey.

Defending the temple trust, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma argued that the preemptive filing of the FIR and the quick assembly of the SIT demonstrate institutional transparency. He dismissed opposition criticism, suggesting that the trust took decisive action before political rivals could leverage the scandal for their own agendas. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine exactly how millions in public contributions vanished.
