A three-member Special Investigation Team is now scrutinizing the alleged embezzlement of 7.5 crore rupees in donations intended for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The inquiry follows an official FIR filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, naming five individuals as the state government faces mounting pressure from political rivals.

Former Samajwadi Party MLA Pawan Pandey first surfaced the claims, alleging a systematic misappropriation of funds between 7 crore and 7.5 crore rupees. The state government responded by forming the SIT, while the legal battle expanded to the Supreme Court, where a pending petition demands the case be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The FIR names Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Tinnu Yadav, and Manish Yadav as central figures in the investigation. Amidst these developments, Samajwadi Party MLA Ravidas Mahrotra has publicly demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, arguing that the administration bears responsibility for the financial oversight of the temple trust's operations.
