Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Omani counterpart, Badr al-Busaidi, finalized the agreement during a Thursday consultation. According to a statement released on Araqchi's Telegram channel, the trial period serves as a practical testing ground for technical measures intended to streamline vessel transit and address persistent security challenges in the waterway.
This diplomatic pivot builds upon recent bilateral discussions held in Muscat, where both states sought to strengthen their partnership. By moving toward synchronized technical coordination, Tehran and Muscat aim to mitigate friction in the strait, a passage critical to global energy supplies. The ministers committed to maintaining a steady dialogue to ensure that these trial protocols translate into lasting regional stability.
