Kremlin Signals Patience as U.S. Envoys Remain Sidelined

With U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner currently occupied by separate negotiations involving Iran, the Kremlin confirmed on Wednesday that it is waiting for their return to the table. Moscow remains committed to the established diplomatic channel rather than seeking alternative representatives to advance stalled discussions on the conflict in Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov addressed the temporary hiatus, dismissing suggestions that Russia might pivot to other negotiators while the pair manages concurrent foreign policy matters. He indicated that the current diplomatic structure remains the preferred path, with talks expected to resume once the envoys are available to refocus their efforts on the Ukrainian dossier.

Beyond the peace process, Peskov reinforced the security architecture of the region. Responding to concerns regarding potential Ukrainian aggression toward Belarus, he stated that Moscow would provide unwavering support to Minsk. This declaration underscores the enduring military and political alliance between the two nations, framing any threat to Belarusian sovereignty as a direct concern for the Kremlin.
