The Skills Development for Employment in Priority Sectors Project (PDCESP-I) allocates 1,500 spots to unemployed graduates for reskilling, while 1,000 places are reserved for individuals with limited formal education. These apprenticeships aim to integrate participants directly into workplace environments, with a target of 30 percent female participation. The Agency for the Development of Technical Education and Vocational Training (ADET) is managing the implementation, ensuring the program reaches all 77 municipalities following a nationwide information campaign held in early June 2026.
Beyond direct training, the project encompasses a CFAF 57.7 billion investment designed to bolster technical education infrastructure. This includes constructing specialized agricultural and vocational secondary schools in three municipalities. By concentrating on high-growth sectors, the government intends to stabilize long-term employment pathways while upgrading the nation's vocational educational framework to meet modern economic requirements.
