Graphite serves as a vital component in battery anodes, fueling the expansion of electric mobility and grid-scale energy storage across the continent. Resonac Graphite Spain claims its proprietary manufacturing method can reduce the carbon footprint of production by up to 90 percent compared to current imported alternatives. By fostering domestic capacity, the project aligns with broader EU goals to secure critical raw material supplies amid intensifying global competition.

EIB Advisory experts will now collaborate with the company to refine the project’s financial structure and technical readiness. Funded by the EU Innovation Fund, this guidance aims to bridge the gap between initial development and full commercial deployment. Specialists will evaluate market conditions and potential scaling opportunities, ensuring the facility attracts the necessary investment to become a cornerstone of the regional clean-tech ecosystem.
