Akhilesh Yadav claims internal BJP conspiracy to unseat chief ministers

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has characterized recent land acquisition allegations against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav as an internal BJP conspiracy. Yadav claims the ruling party is orchestrating a broader power struggle to justify the removal of its own leadership in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

Yadav’s remarks, delivered to reporters on Tuesday, suggest the allegations surrounding a 253-acre land deal in Ujjain are a tactical maneuver designed to facilitate a leadership overhaul. Drawing a parallel to his home state, he claimed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath holds between 300 and 600 acres of land, asserting that the BJP is well aware of such practices but chooses to weaponize them only when leadership changes are desired. He characterized the move as a calculated effort to displace multiple regional heads simultaneously.

The Samajwadi Party leader dismissed the long-term impact of these political shifts, predicting his own party's success in the 2027 assembly elections would render the current leadership transitions irrelevant. However, his accusations triggered a sharp rebuttal from UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, who accused the SP leadership of panic. Rajbhar alleged that the criticism is a diversionary tactic to mask the Samajwadi Party's own financial interests in Madhya Pradesh.

In a detailed post, Rajbhar claimed that IAS officer Bharat Yadav, an MP cadre official and son-in-law of former SP treasurer Chandrapal Yadav, facilitated significant investments by SP-linked figures in land near planned highway routes. Rajbhar further alleged that the Saifai family historically manipulated the path of the Lucknow-Agra Expressway to inflate land values, demanding a formal investigation into what he termed white-collar investments by SP associates in Madhya Pradesh.
