Khurshid emphasized that the reconfiguration of electoral seats must remain transparent and equitable. He warned that any attempt to dilute the influence of specific demographic groups through border manipulation constitutes a betrayal of the electorate's trust. The legitimacy of the democratic system, he noted, depends entirely on the fairness of these foundational processes rather than political convenience.
Beyond electoral concerns, Khurshid addressed the controversy surrounding alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He argued that the government must take stringent action against those responsible for the misappropriation of funds to restore public faith. Former Samajwadi Party MLA Pawan Pandey recently claimed that between ₹7 crore and ₹7.5 crore was siphoned from temple contributions. In response, the Uttar Pradesh government established a three-member Special Investigation Team on June 14 to conduct a formal inquiry into the handling of these donations.
