The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the primary beneficiary of the vote, clinching 11 seats, while its partners—Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde and the Nationalist Congress Party under Ajit Pawar—secured three and two seats respectively. The coalition's path to victory was paved early, as six candidates were elected unopposed before the June 18 polling date. This initial cushion allowed the alliance to maintain steady control throughout the counting process.
Nashik provided the sole exception to the Mahayuti sweep. Independent candidate Gokul Gite, running as a BJP rebel, defeated Shiv Sena nominee Narendra Darade, a result that highlights internal friction within the ruling coalition’s ranks. Despite this localized loss, the broader outcome serves as a strategic consolidation for the government. Ambadas Danve, Leader of the Opposition and representative of the Shiv Sena (UBT), acknowledged the intensity of the campaign, stating that his faction remains focused on constitutional protection despite the electoral setback. The newly elected members will now hold significant sway in shaping policy within the state's legislative framework.
