Dharmadas Baba, a former litigant for Ram Lalla, characterized the irregularities as a product of greed and negligence, arguing that the current trust-based management model in Ayodhya has failed. He advocates for a return to a traditional, sadhu-centric governance structure to restore integrity to the temple's affairs. The Mahant insisted that the Chief Minister will not tolerate any negligence, ensuring those responsible for the alleged embezzlement face severe consequences.
The state government mobilized a three-member Special Investigation Team on June 14, following a direct request from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Trust. The panel, led by Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, IG Kiran S, and Special Secretary Neel Ratan, is tasked with auditing the offerings and delivering a report on the alleged scam. While figures like General Secretary Champat Rai and his associate Ramshankar Yadav face scrutiny, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leadership has called for patience, emphasizing that the investigation must proceed without preemptive character assassination.
