Addressing the crowd, Naidu credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with elevating yoga to a global platform, noting its current observance across 190 countries. He described India as a guiding force for the world, emphasizing the discipline’s reach. Baba Ramdev, who guided the Chief Minister through the session, lauded Naidu as a dedicated practitioner who has maintained a consistent yoga routine for three decades, labeling him a Karmayogi.
The event served as the flagship for the government’s wider Yogandhra campaign, designed to integrate wellness into the daily lives of citizens. Attendees, including local participants like Dr. Anuradha and Srinivas, described the opportunity to practice alongside the guru as a significant honor, reinforcing the message that consistent practice is essential for long-term health. The global observance, established by the United Nations in 2014, focuses this year on the theme of "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," underscoring the role of the practice in maintaining independence and vitality across all demographics.
