The president’s warning comes after a week of intense aggression, including strikes that damaged the historic Pechersk Lavra monastery in Kyiv. Regional officials reported significant casualties on Saturday, with Zaporizhzhia bearing the brunt of the assault. Governor Ivan Fedorov confirmed that nine glide bomb strikes hit the city, killing five residents and injuring ten others while shattering residential buildings.
Additional attacks occurred near the border in Sumy, where a bomb killed one person, and in the Kherson region, where a drone strike claimed another life. In Poltava, shelling left three children injured. Despite the escalation, Kyiv maintains its strategy of targeting Russian energy infrastructure. Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukrainian drone units struck an oil refinery in the Tyumen region of western Siberia on Saturday, marking a continued effort to disrupt Moscow's oil sector following two separate strikes on a Moscow refinery earlier in the week.
