Addressing the Paschimbanga Divas celebrations, the Prime Minister framed the recent election results as a turning point for the state’s identity. The BJP secured 207 of 294 assembly seats, a shift the Prime Minister credited to the collective will of the electorate. He noted that the prevailing sentiment in village after village reflects a newfound trust in the state's potential to reclaim its historical prominence.
Beyond the political rhetoric, the event served as a launchpad for state infrastructure. Modi inaugurated multiple development projects and released the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. He also formally introduced the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, aiming to integrate West Bengal into the central agricultural insurance framework. Reflecting on the significance of June 20, he connected the state's foundation to the sacrifices endured during the 1946 violence and the partition of 1947, asserting that the spirit of the region remains resilient despite its turbulent history.
