Lebanese Civil Defence officials reported that one of the deadliest attacks leveled a three-storey residential building in the town of Barish, claiming the lives of a family of four. Another strike on the Kfarrumman-Nabatieh road killed a Lebanese soldier. The Israeli military justified the bombardment as a necessary response to more than 50 projectiles launched by Hezbollah, which it labeled a direct violation of the nascent truce.
Despite the carnage, both sides claim they remain committed to the deal. Hezbollah fighters engaged Israeli forces attempting to infiltrate the Ali al-Taher hill area, vowing to resist any attempts to expand the occupation. Meanwhile, Israeli officials maintained that their presence in a security zone is strictly intended to dismantle infrastructure rather than target civilians. As the death toll since March rises to 3,912 in Lebanon and 36 in Israel, the stability of this interim peace remains increasingly uncertain.
