VHP Calls for Transparency in Ram Mandir Fund Probe

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a high-level investigation into alleged financial irregularities surrounding Ram Mandir donations, marking a shift in how the Vishwa Hindu Parishad handles claims of embezzlement. While past accusations were dismissed as politically motivated, leadership now views these specific reports with increased concern.

VHP Calls for Transparency in Ram Mandir Fund Probe

Surendra Jain, Joint General Secretary of the VHP, confirmed that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust proactively requested the inquiry to preserve institutional integrity. The state government responded by forming a three-member Special Investigation Team tasked with delivering findings within 15 days. This committee includes Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, IG Kiran S, and Special Secretary of Finance Neel Ratan.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged political factions and devotees to withhold judgment until the SIT concludes its work. He emphasized that the probe aims to separate verified facts from hearsay, requesting that any parties possessing actual documentary evidence submit it directly to the investigators. This move follows a formal request by the Trust on June 14 to address mounting public scrutiny over the handling of temple offerings.
