In Hyderabad, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy led a 24-hour countdown at the Parade Grounds, setting a high-energy tone for the national event. Across the country, regional leaders are spearheading local initiatives to bolster participation. In West Bengal, preparations are concentrated at Kolkata’s Red Road, while Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district hosted a large-scale session at Sanasar. Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak joined hundreds at Lucknow’s KD Singh Babu Stadium, advocating for the integration of yoga into daily life to achieve physical and mental well-being.

Simultaneously, the academic and professional side of the movement is gaining momentum. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Sanyog ISM Yoga Summit 2026, which aligns with the global theme of longevity and wellness. Since its inception in 2014 following a proposal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the annual June 21 observance has evolved from a national initiative into a significant pillar of India's soft power diplomacy, drawing millions of participants worldwide.
