Uddhav Thackeray’s uncle predicts political comeback on Shiv Sena day

As Shiv Sena (UBT) marked its 60th foundation day, Chandrakant Vaidya offered a defiant prediction for his nephew, Uddhav Thackeray. Despite mounting reports of internal fractures and looming defections, Vaidya insisted that public faith in the former Chief Minister remains intact and will eventually propel him back into power.

The foundation day celebrations in Mumbai were overshadowed by the visible intensity of the ongoing rivalry between the two factions. Banners from both the Uddhav Thackeray-led group and the camp headed by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde blanketed key areas like Bandra and Matoshree. This visual clash underscores a volatile period for the party, which has been fractured since the 2022 rebellion.

Speculation regarding "Operation Tiger" continues to destabilize the UBT faction, with rumors circulating that several MPs are preparing to defect to the ruling alliance. While MLC Chandrakant Raghuvanshi claimed that six MPs have already aligned with Shinde, no official confirmation has emerged. Addressing these departures, Vaidya admitted to the internal pain caused by colleagues leaving the fold, noting that the organization is grappling with a shift in loyalties that has left the party’s future in a state of precarious flux.
