Congress readies Uttarakhand roadmap for 2027 polls

With the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections on the horizon, AICC General Secretary Kumari Selja has launched a structured organizational overhaul. During a two-day visit to Dehradun, the party’s state in-charge demanded that members prioritize grassroots mobilization and mandated that all electoral candidates relinquish their internal party posts to avoid conflicts of interest.

Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya confirmed the party is finalizing a comprehensive strategy following extensive consultations with district and metropolitan committee heads. The sessions focused on identifying structural gaps and tightening the party’s public outreach efforts. Arya emphasized that the state unit remains cohesive as it pivots toward a more rigorous, performance-based framework.

To ensure accountability, leadership has required all aspirants to submit detailed progress reports along with a three-month action plan. Selja’s directives aim to intensify pressure on the ruling BJP by strengthening booth-level presence. By decoupling organizational duties from individual electoral ambitions, the party intends to refine its internal operations before the upcoming campaign cycle gains momentum.
