Palaniswami argued that the document offered no genuine innovation, characterizing it as a collection of repackaged announcements and previously disclosed fiscal data. He specifically pointed to the government’s reliance on the Finance Minister’s recent White Paper, suggesting the administration lacks a coherent vision for new development schemes. According to the opposition leader, the government’s stated intent to streamline mineral revenue and gradually fulfill election promises remains an empty gesture without concrete implementation plans.
The sharpest rebuke centered on the state’s deteriorating law and order. Palaniswami cited police data indicating that over 250 cases involving crimes against women and 150 POCSO cases were registered within the first 30 days of the new government. He ridiculed the efficacy of the 'Singappen' special task force, suggesting that the current wave of sexual violence has rendered such initiatives ineffective. Beyond safety concerns, he flagged the failure to secure Cauvery water for Kuruvai cultivation and the resurgence of unannounced power cuts in Chennai as evidence of administrative incompetence.
