Nishad dismissed claims that these potential defections are baseless, noting that politicians prioritize stability and the ability to deliver results for their constituents. He argued that lawmakers who failed to secure power in the last cycle now face mounting pressure from the public to fulfill campaign promises, forcing them to look toward the ruling coalition to maintain their political careers.
The rhetoric intensified as Om Prakash Rajbhar, another key ally, alleged that the Samajwadi Party’s recent public posturing is a defensive maneuver against ongoing CBI investigations. Rajbhar claimed that senior SP figures, including Akhilesh Yadav and family members involved in the Gomti River Front case, are attempting to mitigate legal scrutiny. He predicted a significant exodus from the SP, asserting that rank-and-file members are increasingly disillusioned with the party’s leadership and are ready to abandon the organization.
