Kejriwal dismisses government exam leak measures as political theater

Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has labeled the Centre’s recent efforts to curb examination paper leaks—including a temporary Telegram restriction ahead of the NEET re-test—as a performative charade, arguing that the administration lacks the genuine political will to dismantle the lucrative criminal networks behind these recurring scandals.

Kejriwal dismisses government exam leak measures as political theater

In a video statement posted to X, the former Delhi Chief Minister ridiculed the government’s evolving security strategy, which previously included proposals to transport question papers via Indian Air Force aircraft. He dismissed the current ban on the messaging platform as ineffective, maintaining that the core of the problem remains unaddressed.

Kejriwal alleged that the paper leak industry generates thousands of crores in illicit profits, with significant portions of that revenue flowing upward to high-ranking officials and political entities. He explicitly accused the ruling party of utilizing these funds to facilitate the defection of opposition lawmakers across states like West Bengal and Maharashtra. According to Kejriwal, the systemic nature of these leaks will persist until public pressure forces a total overhaul, as the current administration relies on these financial streams to maintain its political influence.
