The notice, filed by Supreme Court advocate Satyam Singh Rajput on behalf of the MP, requires the Trust to produce itemized bank records, land purchase documentation, and foreign contribution statements within 72 hours. This legal escalation centers on claims made by former SP MLA Pawan Pandey, who alleged that approximately ₹7 crore to ₹7.5 crore in donations were misappropriated. General Secretary Champat Rai has dismissed these accusations as baseless.
The controversy has drawn sharp criticism from opposition leaders. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav described the Uttar Pradesh government’s silence on the matter as suspicious, urging judicial intervention and the release of temple CCTV footage. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut leveled broader allegations of systemic corruption against the ruling party, claiming that theft has become pervasive across state and national administration. Raut announced plans for a party delegation to visit Ayodhya, stating they intend to seek forgiveness from Lord Ram for the alleged misappropriation of offerings.
