Acting Bryansk governor Yegor Kovalchuk stated the vehicle was en route from Gomel, Belarus, to the resort city of Gelendzhik when the strike occurred. Images released by regional authorities show a silver bus with shattered windows, a damaged tire, and interior bloodstains. According to Russian investigators, the bus carried 44 passengers, including 28 children. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the event as a monstrous crime, prompting the launch of a formal terrorism investigation.
Belarusian Health Minister Alexander Khodzhayev reported that two victims remain in serious condition. In response, President Alexander Lukashenko ordered an immediate aerial evacuation of all Belarusian nationals involved to hospitals within their home country. While Minsk has demanded a full explanation from Kyiv, the Ukrainian General Staff maintained that its forces did not deploy unmanned aerial vehicles in the Bryansk region during the specified timeframe. This incident follows a series of escalating drone exchanges between the two nations, as Kyiv intensifies strikes on Russian territory to pressure Moscow’s economy and military infrastructure.
