The refusal reflects a firm boundary regarding Italy’s direct involvement in the U.S.-coordinated supply chain for the ongoing conflict.
Italy Rejects Participation in US-Led Ukraine Arms Initiative
Guido Crosetto, Italy’s defense minister, confirmed on Wednesday that Rome will remain outside the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List initiative. Addressing the lower house of parliament, the minister signaled that the government’s stance against joining the U.S.-led program to procure weapons for Kyiv remains unchanged since the proposal’s inception.
