Rahul Gandhi has branded the current academic environment an unjust, broken system that prioritizes political convenience over the lives of young aspirants. Launching his 'Echo of Students' campaign, he explicitly blamed the Modi government and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for failing to curb recurring paper leaks and systemic mismanagement. According to Gandhi, the administration has consistently shielded those responsible for exam irregularities, leaving students and their families to bear the devastating costs.
The opposition leader is set to hold a mega rally in Kota on June 17, a city synonymous with intense academic pressure. By framing the deaths of the 22- and 23-year-old students as a failure of state responsibility, Gandhi aims to transform localized grief into a broader national movement. He argues that issues such as privatized education, rising fees, and cancelled recruitments are systematically eroding the aspirations of millions, and he is calling on Gen Z to demand systemic accountability.
