Priyanka Gandhi Demands Modi Address US Strike on Indian Sailors

Following the deaths of three Indian sailors in a US military strike on the tanker MT Settebello, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to confront President Donald Trump directly over the incident during the ongoing G7 summit proceedings in France.

The strike occurred in the Gulf of Oman, where US forces intercepted the vessel on allegations of breaching a naval blockade surrounding Iranian ports. While 21 crew members survived the engagement, the loss of three Indian nationals has sparked a diplomatic rift. Rahul Gandhi joined his sister in condemning the operation, fueling pressure on the administration to seek accountability.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has already registered a formal protest with the US Charge d’Affaires regarding the incident. The Prime Minister, currently in Évian-les-Bains for his seventh consecutive G7 appearance, faces mounting expectations to shift the focus from traditional partnership agendas to the immediate security of Indian citizens abroad.
