In a pointed editorial within its mouthpiece, Murasoli, the DMK accused Congress of operating with a double standard: demanding support for national parliamentary battles against the BJP while actively undermining regional partners during state elections. The party claims this pattern of behavior prevents INDIA bloc members from securing local power, creating deep-seated resentment that has already prompted the DMK to boycott recent coalition meetings.
The friction extends beyond Tamil Nadu. The CPI(M) has similarly voiced grievances to the Congress leadership regarding their conduct during the Kerala elections. While the Marxists chose to maintain a formal presence at the latest bloc meeting through MP John Brittas, the broader alliance remains strained by the perception that Congress prioritizes its own tactical positioning over the collective stability of the opposition front.
