Revanth Reddy Accuses Union Government of Stalling Hyderabad Metro

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has escalated his feud with the central leadership, publicly accusing Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy of obstructing the Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 project. The Chief Minister claims the Union government is actively blocking essential funding to serve the political interests of the opposition.

The dispute centers on a stalled low-interest loan application from the Indian Railway Finance Corporation. Revanth Reddy asserts that the state government completed all necessary administrative requirements, yet the project remains frozen due to what he describes as deliberate interference. He suggested that the delay is being orchestrated in coordination with Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K.T. Rama Rao to undermine the state's development agenda.

Beyond the infrastructure impasse, the Chief Minister launched a broader critique of the BJP’s governance model. Challenging the credibility of the current administration, he contrasted the stable majority held by his Congress government with the coalition-dependent nature of the central leadership. These allegations signal an intensifying institutional rift, as the state administration attempts to bypass perceived central roadblocks while defending its legislative mandate against external political pressure.
