Congress and BJP Trade Fire Over Pinarayi Vijayan’s Critique

Conflict erupted between Congress and the CPI(M) as V. Hanumantha Rao lashed out at Kerala’s former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The spat centers on Vijayan’s recent attacks against Rahul Gandhi, exposing deep fissures within the INDIA bloc as the opposition struggles to maintain a unified front against the BJP.

Rao, speaking to ANI, dismissed Vijayan’s accusations as the bitter reaction of a leader grappling with his loss of power in Kerala. He maintained that Gandhi’s mission remains the unification of secular forces to challenge the ideology of the BJP and RSS. This defense highlights the internal friction threatening the coalition’s cohesion.

Adding to the volatility, BJP spokesperson Shaik Baji joined the fray by targeting the Communist Party’s shifting alliances. Baji argued that the current infighting only serves the BJP’s interests, while mocking the CPI(M) for its historical inconsistency. These overlapping attacks from both the Congress and the BJP underscore the mounting pressure on the Communist leadership to clarify its political messaging amid increasing isolation.
