Kumaraswamy leads delegation on Sabarimala pilgrimage

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy set out for the Sabarimala temple today, departing from Kochi’s Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple with a 30-member entourage. The group completed the traditional Ayyappa Mala rituals, marking the beginning of a physically demanding trek that requires 41 days of strict celibacy and devotion.

The pilgrimage party features a prominent lineup of political figures, including JDS Legislature Party leader Suresh Babu and former ministers C.S. Puttaraju and S.R. Mahesh. Joining them are MLC Bhojegowda, MLA Sharanagouda Kandakur, and former legislators Magadi Manjunath and H.M. Ramesh Gowda. The journey follows the completion of all required rites, signaling their readiness for the sacred trek to the hilltop shrine.

Simultaneously, Union Home Minister Amit Shah observed his own tribute to the site from New Delhi, where he inaugurated the SABAREESAM Complex. Designed to foster cultural and welfare initiatives, the facility underscores the temple's enduring significance as a symbol of spiritual unity. The Sabarimala site remains accessible only during specific windows, attracting devotees who brave the traditional paths to demonstrate their endurance.
