Ghosh remains focused on maintaining the party’s ideological commitment to the INDIA bloc, framing the current unrest as a distraction from the broader opposition to BJP policies. He has publicly dismissed the internal friction, refusing to condemn veteran leader Kalyan Banerjee despite the latter’s aggressive stance against party leadership. Instead, Ghosh is calling for dissidents to set aside their grievances and reconnect with the grassroots base to preserve the party's electoral viability.
The situation remains volatile, however, as Kalyan Banerjee has publicly escalated his campaign against Abhishek Banerjee, forcing an uncomfortable choice upon Mamata Banerjee. This power struggle has created a visible schism, highlighted by the departure of some members while loyalists like MP Pratima Mondal scramble to reaffirm their standing. The party now faces the difficult task of reconciling these conflicting factions before the internal discord permanently compromises its strategic position.
