IWSR President Marten Lodewijks warns that major beverage labels risk losing significant market volume by 2035 if they fail to pivot. Consumers are increasingly abandoning legacy brands in favor of canned cocktails and lower-alcohol alternatives. While India is projected to overtake the United States as the world's second-largest alcohol market by 2032, this growth remains an outlier. Established industry players must now accelerate innovation or face obsolescence in an environment where the appetite for conventional drinking is rapidly evaporating.
