South African Forestry Firms Target Growth at WoodEX Africa

Four local timber and manufacturing businesses are stepping onto the national stage at Johannesburg’s Gallagher Convention Centre this June. Backed by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, these firms are using the WoodEX for Africa exhibition to secure new contracts and widen their commercial footprint across southern Africa.

The participating companies—CMAS Trading and Projects, Seltech Cupboards, Roofbrands, and Truss Master—are leveraging the event to display their capabilities to potential investors and industry professionals. The expo, which runs from 9 to 11 June 2026, serves as a hub for machinery, timber products, and forestry technology, offering firms a direct pipeline to both domestic and international buyers.

Government officials noted that this support is part of a broader strategy to bolster the country’s manufacturing base and drive job creation. By facilitating participation in high-profile trade events, the department aims to help small and medium enterprises integrate into larger value chains. Visitors to the exhibition stand can also consult with department representatives regarding available incentives and industrial development programs designed to strengthen the competitiveness of the local furniture and forestry sectors.
