French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot confirmed the measures on Tuesday, marking a sharp escalation in diplomatic pressure. The French government has specifically banned Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich from entering its territory, citing his role in the current climate of unrest.

Beyond the ministerial ban, the sanctions target a broader network of actors. The list includes four prominent leaders of settler organizations and 21 other individuals directly linked to violent activities within the region. Barrot utilized social media to signal that these restrictions are not merely symbolic, but a direct consequence of the escalating volatility that has drawn condemnation from multiple Western capitals.
