West Bengal CID Investigates TMC Signature Forgery Scandal

The Criminal Investigation Department search at the residence of Mamata Banerjee marks a significant escalation in a probe that began after thirteen MLAs testified in May regarding the unauthorized use of their signatures. Investigators are specifically focused on discrepancies found in a meeting resolution book, which triggered the initial formal complaint.

Prior to this search, the SIT visited the residence of TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee to demand the original resolution copy submitted to the West Bengal Assembly Speaker. The current focus remains on reconciling these official documents with the claims of the legislators who allege their identities were compromised to rubber-stamp party appointments.
