Navneet Rana Rejects NCP Offer to Maintain BJP Allegiance

Navneet Rana has firmly dismissed speculation regarding a potential move to the Rajya Sabha under the Nationalist Congress Party banner. The former Amravati MP reaffirmed her loyalty to the Bharatiya Janata Party, stating she would not compromise her ideological ties for a parliamentary seat despite high-level overtures.

Rana clarified that while she appreciates the support from Sunetra and Parth Pawar, she remains committed to working under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. During a meeting at Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s residence, she explicitly rejected the offer because it required her to switch party affiliations.

This decision arrives as political jockeying intensifies over upcoming Rajya Sabha vacancies in Maharashtra. The Election Commission has scheduled elections for 24 seats across 10 states for June 18, including crucial by-elections in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. By choosing to stay within the BJP fold, Rana has highlighted the complex alliance dynamics currently shaping the state's political landscape.
