MP Sanjay Kumar Jha publicly lauded the nomination, highlighting Kumar’s track record in the Health Department as a catalyst for his expanded role in future party operations. Beyond the Patna seat, the JD(U) confirmed Bharti Mehta for Madhubani, Shivrani Devi Prajapati for West Champaran, and Lalan Prasad for the Sheikhpura by-election. These appointments are designed to stabilize the party's presence as ten vacant seats across the chamber force a reshuffle of legislative priorities.
The BJP has countered by finalizing its own roster, selecting Sheela Pandit, Pawan Singh, Sanjay Mayukh, and Anil Kumar Thakur to contest the polls. The upcoming vote includes nine biennial seats and one specific bypoll, the latter becoming available after former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transitioned to the Rajya Sabha. With several seats previously vacated by newly elected MLAs, both major parties are recalibrating their alliances to secure a firm footing in the council’s evolving legislative makeup.
