Chirag Paswan Labels INDIA Bloc a Strategic Facade

Union Minister Chirag Paswan questioned the structural integrity of the INDIA bloc on Monday, characterizing the opposition coalition as a fragile assembly of political rivals forced together. He argued that the alliance serves primarily as a smoke screen to mask the deep-seated ideological and electoral weaknesses of its constituent parties.

Paswan specifically highlighted the participation of Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, noting the dissonance of her presence given the history of sharp attacks from Congress figures like Rahul Gandhi during West Bengal election cycles. According to the Lok Janshakti Party (RV) leader, these internal contradictions expose the coalition as a marriage of convenience rather than a unified political movement. He pointed to the strained relationship between Congress and the DMK as further evidence of the grouping's inherent instability.

Simultaneously, the alliance faced friction from within as leaders gathered in the capital. CPI General Secretary D Raja signaled that the Left intends to confront Congress over past hostility toward the Left Democratic Front. Amid this growing internal pressure, the meeting proceeded without a clearly communicated agenda from Chairman Mallikarjun Kharge, while local dissent surfaced in the form of posters critical of Rahul Gandhi appearing across Delhi.
